Lt. Rose Cartwright existed originally as Eliza Vesper, but that name is too exotic for this setting, so I changed it. I needed a character who wasn't afraid to tell superior officers they're being children and enable their bullshit. She's also canonically trans, but her life isn't her coworkers' business, so it's never come up textually and thus I don't market PF as containing trans rep because this is pretty weak. Cartwright is cool though.
