So, why did I kill Miller? Short answer: he's more useful to me dead. Based on his agreeing with Melissa back when everyone was splitting up to leave the fortress, and now when he's giving the map to Felix, Miller was becoming less of a threat to Melissa. They were never going to be friends again, but he was becoming irrelevant. Now that he's dead, the version of him in Melissa's head lives on to undermine her confidence and be the voice of her self-doubt.
