Hmm, I wonder how I would have handled this inner monologue if I wrote this today. I guess I'd rework the scene entirely? Maybe cut it out, since the conclusion Fairchild comes to is kinda obvious?

This is a good argument for why you don't go back and rework a comic that's already complete.
