Do I need to explain methods of town protection in Aelmidde? There are either military garrisons (what we've seen so far, particularly Oldham in Chapter Three) or locally run militias. There is probably room for political commentary here but I wasn't intending any when I wrote this and with everything going on at present I'm currently not interested in dissecting something I wrote a decade ago.
